Stainless steel blades ARE tempered with Molybdenum...a polyvalent metallic element that resembles Chromium and Tungsten in properties used to harden steel and Vanadium, a soft ductile metallic element having excellent structure and strength used in rust resistant tools for balance between resistance and easy sharpening.
Bolsters are made of polished, oxidized metal.
Back angles of the blades are rounded for safety.
