1. Tuskegee Soup

Peanut Butter Cornbread

Sift together:

¾ Cup corn meal, yellow preferred.
1 Cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
¾ tsp salt

Mix in:

1 Cup milk
1 whole egg, well beaten
2 Tbsp melted shortening or cooking oil
½ Cup peanut butter, smooth variety
Spoon into a shallow buttered pan 8" square, Bake 20 minutes at 425 degrees F. Serve hot.
