Connecticut - The Constitution State, State flower: Mountain Laurel Apple PandowdyAccording to a great, great, great, great-grandson of the Connecticut Revolutionary War Patriot, the descendants of Israel Putnam have been eating this version of apple pandowdy for over 200 years! 4 cups apples (peeled, cored and sliced) Arrange apples in buttered dish. Add cider. Mix cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and brown sugar and sprinkle over apples, dot with butter. Cover with biscuit dough rolled to ¼" thick and make slits on top with knife to allow steam to escape. Bake in medium heat until apples are tender, time depending o texture and quality of apples. Serve warm. |
