Applejack Pie

Preheat oven to 425º.

Pastry for 2-crust pie
2/3 cup whit and brown sugar
3 Tbsp flour
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp grated lemon peel
6 to 7 cups apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced,
¼ cup applejack brandy
1 Tbsp butter or margarine

Line a 9" pie plate with pastry. In small bowl, combine sugars with flour, nutmeg, and lemon peel.. Place half the apples in piecrust and sprinkle with half the sugar mixture. Top with remaining apples and, then, the remaining sugar mixture.

Pour applejack over all and dot with butter. Cover pie with top crust and seal edges. Make a decorative edge and slach top crust in several places. Bake 40 to 50 minutes.

Serve warm or cold.
