North Carolina - State flower: The Dogwood Braised Cucumbers - Serves 44 large or 6 small cucumbers, peeled, seeded and cut into strips Blanch cucumbers in salted water, drain well and cook, covered, in butter until tender. Add the meat glaze and salt and freshly ground black pepper. Dust them with the dill, chives or parsley. Serve warm. |
