Oregon - The Beaver State, State flower: Grape Turnips (As you like them) - Makes 6 to 8 servings1-½ lbs small white turnips Scrub turnips well under cold running water, trim stems and roots. Parboil until barely tender, about 20 minutes. Place in a shallow baking dish, dot with butter or margarine and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover and bake in preheated oven, 375º, for about 30 minutes. Check for tenderness with fork. |
