Green Beans with Apples - Serves 6 to 8

5 strips bacon
1 med onion, sliced
4 cups green beans, cooked and their liquid
2 med tart apples, peeled, cored, diced
3 Tbsp vinegar
3 Tbsp brown sugar
Salt & pepper to taste

Cut bacon into pieces; fry it and onion until bacon is crisp and onion is tender. Combine green beans and liquids, apples, vinegar and brown sugar in large saucepan; simmer until apples are tender. Add onion and bacon; season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
