Pennsylvania - The Keystone State, State flower: Mountain Laurel Shoo-Fly Pie - Serves 6 to 8¾ cup molasses Combine molasses with ¾ cup water; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in soda; pour into pie shell. Combine flour, brown sugar, shortening and salt; blend well. Sprinkle over molasses mixture. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes. Cool and serve chilled. |
