Shoo-Fly Pie - Serves 6 to 8

¾ cup molasses
½ tsp soda
1 unbaked 9" pie shell
1-½ cups flour
½ cup of (packed) brown sugar
½ cup shortening
¼ tsp salt

Combine molasses with ¾ cup water; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in soda; pour into pie shell. Combine flour, brown sugar, shortening and salt; blend well. Sprinkle over molasses mixture. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes. Cool and serve chilled.
