Barbecued Gulf Shrimp - Serves 4 sparely

3 sticks butter or margarine
2 cloves garlic, minced
Hot sauce to taste
Paprika
Salt and pepper
1 lime or lemon, sliced
Dash oregano
1 Tbsp chili sauce
1 cup white wine
1 lb whole large fresh shrimp

To prepare shrimp: Remove heads and with sharp knife, slice back and devein. Leave shell and tail on.

Mix all seasonings together and marinate shrimp in this sauce for at least 1 hour in a baking dish. Bake in a 300º oven, basting shrimp often with marinade sauce for 20 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook. Serve in individual bowls along with sauce to be eaten with hands or utensils.
