Virginia - State flower: American Dogwood Crab LoafCrab loaf is made with a crusty loaf of bread from which the top is cut and the interior hollowed out. A crabmeat filling is prepared by mixing shredded crab with mustard, celery seed, salt and pepper and a good deal of butter with a little of the bread crumbs doused in sweet cream. Fill the hollowed loaf with the crab mixture and replace the top. Heat in a fast oven and then cut into sizzling slices. |
