Virginia - State flower: American Dogwood Fried Corn, Virginia Style - Serves 4 to 61 dozen ears of tender white corn Slice off the tops of the grains and scrape down the rest of each of the ears. Fry the bacon brown, remove from pan and put corn in the hot grease; add water, more if necessary, while corn cooks. When nearly done, add the milk or cream, butter and seasonings to taste. If brown crust is wanted, turn heat very low until crust forms on bottom. |
