Apple and Cranberry Salad - Serves 16 to 18

2 RED Delicious apples
1 orange
2 cups cranberries
1-½ cups sugar
½ cup walnut pieces
2 small packs orange gelatin

Core and quarter the apples. Peel orange, or not, and cut into quarters; remove seeds. Grind apples, cranberries and orange through food chopper. Add sugar and walnut pieces; mix well. Prepare gelatin according to package directions; chill until partially thickened. Add fruit mixture; mix well. Place in large mold or rectangular pan; chill until firm. Serve on lettuce; garnish with mayonnaise. Serve cold.
