Brunswick Stew

1 stewing chicken
1 qt water, more or less.
4 Irish potatoes, diced
1 pint lima beans
1 or 2 onions, diced
½ tsp salt
Pepper to taste
1 pint canned corn
1 pint canned tomatoes
1 Tbsp butter
1 cup biscuit or bread crumbs

Cut chicken in serving pieces; place in kettle or pot. Add water, potatoes, lima beans and onions; simmer until tender. Add salt and pepper. Remove chicken; cool. De-bone chicken placing meat into kettle. Add corn and tomatoes; cook until vegetables are done. Add butter and crumbs; stir until thickened. This may be reheated.

Squirrel or rabbit may be substituted for chicken; fresh corn and tomatoes may be used instead of canned product.
